About & FAQ

Built for people designing real parts

Hillhouse Fab creates practical vehicle scan data for fabricators and designers. Each scan is prepared around a sensible vehicle coordinate system, centered, and exported at full scale so you can spend less time cleaning up geometry and more time designing the part.

FILE FORMAT AND UNITS

All downloads are STL mesh files. Units are inches: 1 STL unit equals 1 inch. Import the file as a mesh or graphics body according to your CAD software.

WHAT DOES CAD-READY MEAN?

The scan has been scaled, aligned, and centered for practical reference use. It is not a finished parametric CAD model, but it is positioned so you can begin sketching and designing from sensible origin planes.

WHAT SOFTWARE CAN I USE?

Any CAD package that can import STL mesh geometry may work. SolidWorks, Fusion, Inventor, Rhino, and similar programs have different mesh limits and import options, so confirm compatibility with your version before purchase.

CAN I MANUFACTURE AND SELL PARTS DESIGNED FROM THE SCAN?

Yes. Your purchase includes a license to use the scan as reference geometry for designing, manufacturing, and selling physical products.

CAN I SHARE OR RESELL THE SCAN FILE?

No. The original or modified scan data may not be shared, uploaded, sublicensed, or resold. Each separate person or business using the scan data needs its own license.

FIT AND ACCURACY

These scans are reference data. Always verify critical dimensions, clearances, mounting points, and final fit on the physical vehicle before manufacturing.

REFUNDS AND FILE ISSUES

Digital sales are generally final once download access is provided. If a file is missing, corrupt, or materially different from its description, contact Hillhouse Fab within 14 days so the file can be corrected or replaced.
